Get Involved with NM Local News

Join our Advisory Committee, connect with fellow journalists, and help shape the future of local news in New Mexico through collaboration, discussion, and community engagement.

The New Mexico Local News Fund invites community members, journalists, and industry professionals to collaborate, connect, and contribute to strengthening local journalism. There are multiple ways to get involved:

  • Join Our Advisory Committee – We’re seeking passionate New Mexicans with diverse backgrounds in journalism, business, nonprofits, and community leadership to help guide our programs and identify new opportunities. Applicants with strong ties to New Mexico who live elsewhere are also welcome, as meetings are primarily online.

  • Participate in Our Stakeholders Group – Journalists and journalism students are invited to join quarterly calls where we share updates, discuss challenges facing local news, and explore opportunities for collaboration and support.

  • Connect on Our Slack Channel – The NM Journalists Slack is a space for reporters, editors, and media professionals to chat, ask questions, and collaborate on stories in real time.
